Our Speakers

Erin Jones has worked in and around schools in different capacities for over 30 years. She has worked and done consultation for non-profits, government agencies and businesses. She has worked and lived in 5 states, from the East Coast to the Midwest to the West Coast, in communities that were predominantly White communities to communities that were predominantly Black communities to those that boasted dozens of languages and cultures. She has been recognized locally and nationally for her work in education and equity. She has also received recognition as an athlete and was invited to try out for two WNBA teams. After 20 years of playing soccer and 35 years of playing basketball, Erin now runs long distances and is devoted to regular Orange Theory workouts. Erin and her husband, James, have been married for almost 30 years and have three adult children – two who work in education and one who designs video games.
Maureen was among the original founders of Monarch and later took on the role of director. Following her time at Monarch, she continued her professional journey working with Child Advocacy Centers at the state and national level. Maureen’s years of support and commitment have been invaluable. She has been an advocate for children facing abuse and has consistently provided support to Monarch through many changes over the years. Her ongoing support and leadership have made a lasting impact on both Monarch and the broader community.
Al Weinnig currently serves as a Patrol Lieutenant for the Olympia Police Department. Al has worked closely with Monarch and the Multi-Disciplinary Team during his time as a Detective and Detective Sergeant. Lt. Weinnig is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and recently retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S Army Reserves. During his time on active duty, Lt. Weinnig served as Blackhawk Pilot with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment in Ft. Campbell, KY and Joint Base Lewis-McChord. During his time with the Olympia Police Department, Lt. Weinnig has worked as a Patrol Officer, a Detective, the Detective Supervisor, the Administrative Sergeant, and was a member of the Thurston County SWAT Team.
