Meet our new Office and Program Administrative
Assistant, Cristian!

As a Xicano born in Oceanside, CA, my upbringing in a predominantly Mexican community shaped my perspective on resilience, family values, and unity. These early experiences ignited my passion for advocacy, leading me to serve as a Community Navigator with CIELO for the past four years. This role expanded my understanding of local resources and deepened my commitment to community empowerment, ultimately guiding me to this agency.

I was drawn to the mission and values of CAC through consistent positive feedback from the community. People spoke highly of the staff’s helpfulness and professionalism during challenging times. My previous experiences working with CAC showcased a team committed to transparency and integrity, reinforcing my desire to be part of this impactful work.

In my daily responsibilities, I witness our mission in action through direct service and advocacy for immigrant and refugee communities that often go unnoticed. Whether assisting families with rental assistance or addressing overdue energy bills, I aim to promote dignity, self-sufficiency, and equity. These efforts resonate deeply with a mission focused on justice and empowerment.

Personally, our mission speaks to my identity and lived experiences. Advocating for our community means fighting for visibility, equity, and justice. This work is not just a job; it’s a calling fueled by love, responsibility, and hope. Together, we can build a more just future for those who are often unheard.
