HEALTH

Learn how Monarch works to reduce the incidence and impact of child abuse.

We work to reduce the incidence and impact of child abuse by providing a coordinated, multidisciplinary response to victims of child abuse and their families. This response includes prevention, investigation, prosecution, and treatment. This includes community partners who are experts in those areas. In conjunction with our partner agencies, Monarch provided a wide range of services at no cost to 839 child victims and their families last year.

On Tuesday, the team at Monarch drew attention to a heart-wrenching truth: limited resources often result in children having to endure wait times of up to a year before receiving the essential services. Currently, there are over 75 children on the waitlist, seeking specialized therapy following ...their traumatic experiences of sexual abuse. This impactful revelation occurred during the Thurston County Commissioners' proclamation, officially designating April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. Let's come together and raise awareness about the critical need for resources and support to assist these children in their journey towards healing and flourishing. πŸ’™ #childabusepreventionmonth
