March is Women's History Month, a time dedicated to recognizing and honoring the significant contributions women have made to society at large. It is also a time to get real and talk about the intersectionality of womanhood. There is no one monolithic experience of womanhood, and often women ...who are not straight, cisgender, and white are not well represented in these conversations. So, during this month of celebration, as we honor the remarkable and awe-inspiring contributions of women, we would like to offer valuable resources that foster celebration and learning from an intersectional perspective.
1. "5 Things to Know to Make Your Feminism Trans-Inclusive" by Human Rights Campaign: This resource offers insights into fostering trans-inclusivity within feminism. It emphasizes the importance of recognizing trans women as women and combating transphobia. The article also highlights the significance of intersectionality in feminism.

2. "Kimberlé Crenshaw: The Urgency of Intersectionality" - TED Talk: In this powerful TED Talk, Kimberlé Crenshaw, a renowned civil rights advocate, discusses the concept of intersectionality. She explores how race and gender bias intersect, contributing to increased harm and discrimination. Crenshaw urges us to bear witness to this reality and advocate for victims of prejudice.

Celebrating Women's History Month!
On Mother's Day, May 12, 1968, Coretta Scott King led thousands of women who became the first wave of demonstrators. The next day, Resurrection City, a temporary settlement consisting of tents and shacks, was constructed on the Mall in ...Washington, D.C. Despite facing rain, mud, and intense summer heat, the protesters persevered for over a month.
During this Women's History Month, let's remember that the struggle for women's rights intersects with the fight against poverty. To learn more about the facts surrounding women in poverty, visit: www.americanprogress.org/article/basic-facts-women-poverty/
